Inclusion Australia, the NDIA and Department of Social Services (DSS) have launched a new website hub to support individuals making decisions as they engage with the NDIS.
The ‘Supported Decision Making Hub’ will become a central home for resources that will helping people make decisions about their goals, supports and lives. The NDIA says this will “give people more control over the things that are important to them”.
The Hub has information across 12 different categories, including NDIS decisions, employment, health and accommodation. These are clearly marked so that people who need, for example, ‘disability supports’ can immediately find the specific assistance they require.
This video shows how anyone can engage with the hub.
Supported decision making involves building the skills and knowledge of people with disability, their friends, families, carers, peers and professionals.
Everyone uses supported decision making, as everyone needs support with decisions at different points in time.
