The Big Story

Tropical Cyclone Alfred

The message is simple: “prepare now”.

As tropical Cyclone Alfred bears down on the Queensland and New South Wales coast, authorities are urging vulnerable people to flee the storm. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has urged vulnerable people to seek refuge elsewhere if they have any doubt about their capacity to cope.

But for those who can’t, it’s vital to use these last moments to prepare before the cyclone brings heavy rain and stronger winds to the region.

Yetter Gurtner has prepared the following advice, which abilityNEWS reprints under creative license from The Conversation.
